There's a little black cat on the bed today

It's the same black cat as yesterday...

Lately I've been noticing Ozzie is a lot like Squeak. Or, rather, he behaves like her sometimes. For instance, Ozzie likes to lie in the crook of my arm with his paws over my upper arm as Squeak used to do. He is a licker. Hands, arms, neck, face, whatever body part is nearest him. He has licked my nose raw, just like Squeak did once. I think of it as vigorous exfoliation.

Squeak used to slowly lower her cheek to the ground and the flop over onto her side. Ozzie does that, but with less grace. He just straight up flops. But he's usually on the bed so he doesn't have to be gentle.

To wake me up, he has been known to run across my back. Big difference here is Squeak was about 7 pounds and Ozzie is 20. So there's that.

Ozzie has not started dropping turdpedos, thankfully. Though man I would love to have Squeak and her turdpedos back. But since that is impossible, I'm so glad Ozzie has some of her behaviors to keep her close to me.

With Ozzie I get those as well as his own little idiosyncrasies. He will respond to me when I talk to him. Most of the cats do in some form or another and at times, but he will respond almost every time with a meow (the highest little meow for the biggest cat) and we have a little conversation. We also have this thing where I will bend over to make my face level with him and he will walk back and forth rubbing his face and side against my face and head. He will keep doing it pretty much as long as I stay there. That's the best.

When we first got him, our master closet had a light that would come on automatically whenever you opened the door and go out when you closed it. He LOVED that closet. Whenever we opened the door he would bound into the closet like he was on springs. I imagined him thinking of it as the BEST! CLOSET! EVER!

Every now and then he will leave the bed but it's rare. Usually you can find him on the bed and if you walk towards him he will start rolling over on his back, meowing and squirming looking for a belly rub. Until he is done with the belly rubs wherein, like most cats, you will suddenly get the rabbit kick or a nip.

He's slue-footed. He has big long legs and his feet point outwards. It's too cute to watch him "run". It's more like a tip-toe trot; ears back, kind of low to the ground but not really. I need to get a video of it. I think to Katt Williams Little Tink Tink when I see it. In my head I hear, "tink tink tink" with every step.
Ozzie, in one of his rare appearances somewhere other than the bed.

Little Delilah Squeak aka Bunnycat aka Squeakerbean aka numerous other nicknames.

I'm sure I will think of other things but that is all I have right now. I've been wanting to start writing again and since I have been thinking about this a bunch, I figured it was a good place to start. This writing is TERRIBLE, but I will give myself a break because it's just for me and it will help me get better at writing again. Maybe I will come back and edit it to make it flow better sometime. Right now I have a headache.
